2007 Scion tCThe 2007 Scion tC compares very favorably to its competition. It excels in interior fit and finish, with a level of quality reminiscent of a Lexus. Its 2.4L inline-four engine produces 161 horsepower, which is on the high end when compared to its peers, and its suspension tuning makes the car a blast to drive. Opting for a five-speed manual transmission and the Spec Package puts it at $15,000, which makes it one of the few exciting vehicles priced at a point that makes it affordable to almost everyone looking for a new car.

![]() The tC's drivetrain is typical Toyota in its smoothness and refinement. Acceleration is sprightly and the four-wheel disc brakes with ABS offer plenty of stopping power. All of the tC's interior materials feel superior to the level of trim you'd typically find in this price class, and the standard equipment is pretty impressive too. Besides the power accessories we've now come to expect, the tC also has a glass moonroof, turn signals in the outside mirrors, and a decent sounding 160-watt AM/FM stereo with CD player. The rear seats are split 60/40, recline, and fold down to give you up to 8.5 feet in length of cargo space when you also fold the front passenger seat down. The standard front air bags can be supplemented with optional driver and front passenger seat bolster side impact bags and overhead side curtain bags for both front and rear. It is also possible to add dozens of post production options to personalize your Scion. A new Spec Package is available for 2007, and it is aimed at those who plan on customizing their Scion. It substitutes oft-replaced standard equipment from the tC with less expensive items. Since so many Scions undergo customization by dealers, owners and tuner shops, Scion has addressed the issue for 2007 by offering a tC Spec Package to their sole model. This package comes with less expensive items that are commonly removed from custom cars, such as steel wheels with wheel covers, a urethane steering wheel, and a fixed glass panorama roof.
